About Me
Gabby Nelson is the Assistant Director of Urban Engaged Learning at Trinity College, where she works with the Center for Urban and Global Studies and Center for Hartford Engagement and Research. She earned a Master’s in Public Policy and Graduate Certificate in Urban Planning from Trinity and a Bachelor's in Urban and Community Studies and minor in Spanish from UConn. She grows cut flowers, herbs, and vegetables each summer in her urban garden. Her passion for gardening informs her approach to thinking about education and furthering sustainable and equitable communities.
At Trinity, she coordinates the Center for Urban and Global Studies' student research grants program, the Center's lecture series and special events. She also manages communications and data for the Center for Hartford Engagement and Research. In June 2019, she traveled to the Pearl River Delta in China as the teaching assistant for the Center's field course on urbanization, immigration, and innovation in the region.
Gabby is a skilled writer and researcher and excels at enhancing organizations through strategic planning, problem solving, effective communication, and proactive organization.
